Dream Singular House La Plana Este Sitges Barcelona

In the new development of La Plana Este Sitges Barcelona we find this unique singular house. The functional program of the house occupies three levels. Firstly, a Basement for vehicle parking. There is also service rooms and facilities. Secondly, a ground floor that houses the main rooms of the house. They are the big living room – dining room – kitchen and the master bedroom of the house. Thirdly, on the first floor, we find the different bedrooms. A characteristic of the house is that all rooms have a private bathroom. There is a total of 5 rooms and six bathrooms.

The hall and the staircase occupy a central position in the house. They are a virtual axis that divides the house. They also become the interior vertical union between the three floors. Thanks to the double spaces, this communication is also visual and spatial. This division is marked on the façade with a special volume visible from the street.  All main rooms are located on the south facade, and the service rooms and corridors are located on the north facade. The exterior design of the house opens towards the south facade to take advantage of the views and natural light. The façade is unified by a cantilever that starts from the ground floor.

The house seeks to facilitate relationships between the interior and the exterior. To achieve this, we design large windows and exterior spaces related to the house. Consequently, on the Ground Floor, we create porches, while on the Ground Floor, we create terraces. The main cantilever and the porches of the south facade avoid the heat from the sun light in summer, but also allow this warm light enter into the house in winter.

This luxurious home is designed with the highest energy efficiency standards. For this reason, the house obtains an energy classification A, the most efficient. Consequently, it can be considered to be an almost zero consumption home (nZEB). We achieve the same goal as another houses designed by the office.
